The Albergo Barbara in the center of old Vernazza is just 20 meters from the waters edge. It's a plain looking and frankly not very inviting building (painted red), but don't let that fool you. The owners, Giuseppe and Patricia, run a nice little establishment that offers a low-cost alternative to the sometimes overpriced accommodations that one finds in the towns of the Cinque Terre.
The hotel and its rooms are kept fresh, clean and comfortable. There are 2 good sized double bedrooms on the main floor with lovely harbour views, and two double rooms on the top floor which have smaller windows and therefore more constricted views.
