Day 1: Palermo

In
the afternoon you will arrive at the hotel in Palermo and
allocation in the reserved rooms. In the late afternoon meeting
with the Tour Escort .
Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 2:
Palermo
- Monreale
 
Half
board in hotel. Half-day guided tour of Palermo, regional and
provincial capital of Sicily. Encircled by the mountains and the
sea, it is a city steeped in history. We will start the visit
from the old part of the city the Royal Palace, the Palatina
Chapel and the Cathedral. Then we report to Monreale famous for
its Cathedral, with Byzantine mosaics , the figure of Christ
Pantocreator and the Cloister. In the afternoon excursion to
Mount Pellegrino to enjoy the wonderful panorama above the gulf
of Palermo, and to Mondello, little village of fishermen and
important bathing locality.
After dinner facultative walking in Palermo 800/900 period
admiring the huge theatres Massimo and Politeama .
Overnight in Hotel.
Day 3:
Palermo
- Erice - Segesta - Selinunte - Agrigento
 
Breakfast in Hotel and departure to Erice. Visit of the medieval
town on the summit of Monte San Giuliano.
On
this excursion we can admire numerous churches and convents of
the middle age, as well as the famous Norman Castle and its
Dome.
On
to Segesta, another archeologiacal gem of Sicily. Visit of the
Doric temple whose majestic appearance and dominating position
bestows great nobility to the landscape. On to Selinunte and
visit of the archaeological park that contains the ruins of the
temples and the Greek Necropolis. In the late afternoon on to
Agrigento, arrival in hotel, allocation in reserved rooms.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 4:
Agrigento - Piazza Armerina - Taormina
 
Breakfast in Hotel. In the morning guided tour of the Valley of
Temples. We will admire the Temple of Juno, the Temple of
Concorde, one of the most preserved doric temple in all the
Greek world, the Temple of Ercules and the Temple of Castor and
Pollux. In the afternoon on to Piazza Armerina to visit the
Villa Romana del Casale famous for the most beautiful collection
of late-Roman mosaics. On to Taormina beach, arrival in the late
afternoon in the Hotel, allocation in reserved rooms.
Dinner and overnight.
Day
5:
Taormina - Mount Etna - Taormina
 
In
the morning excursion to Etna, the highest mountain in Sicily
and the highest vulcano in Europe. The territory surrounding of
the vulcano constitutes the "Park of Etna", one of the largest
protected area in Italy. You will be astonished at the
great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet
along the way.
We
will arrive to the " Silvesti Craters" (about 1.900 mt); there
we will have the possibility to continue the excursion by jeep
(facultative). In the afternoon visit of Taormina situated on a
rocky plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro,
dominating the Ionian coast from Capo Sant'Andrea to Capo
Taormina.
Visit of the theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in
Sicily.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 6:
Taormina - Noto - Siracusa
 
Full day excursion . First stop in Noto, to discover the
beautiful baroque in Sicily. On to Siracusa, one of the
most interesting archaeological site in the island. Guided tour
of the Archeological Park, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek
Theatre, the Orecchio of Dionisio, la Grotta dei Cordari, Island
of Ortigia, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its
interesting dom.
Return to the hotel in the late afternoon, dinner and overnight.
Day
7:
Taormina -
Messina - Cefalu - Palermo
 
Breakfast in Hotel and departure to Messina, for a panoramic
visit of the town Cefalů, to visit this little town and its
famous Duomo Arabo-Normanno, one of the most beautiful churches
in Sicily, built by Ruggero II, first king of Sicily On to
Palermo and arrival at the hotel in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 8:
Palermo
 
Breakfast in Hotel.
End of Tour.
