The Apartment Doro is a chic and refined ground floor apartment close to the famous Ca' d'Oro in Cannaregio, around ten minutes walk to Rialto and about 20 minutes to San Marco. It has the advantage of a small internal courtyard, as well as both canal and garden views.

The Italian, but Paris-based, owners have gone to a great deal of trouble to equip it as well as possible and it really is very comfortable, incorporating Italian style but with a decidedly French feel. It has the original features of terrazzo flooring and beamed ceilings, and has been tastefully finished to a high standard in perfect taste. It has an open plan living/dining area, two bedrooms and an excellent bathroom. Both bedrooms have double beds, one of which is a king size double bed (180cm). There is no cupboard in the second bedroom.

The apartment measures 70m².

Our comment: a tranquil and peaceful bolthole in an interesting area of the city. Sitting outside in the courtyard with a glass of wine and a book has to be my definition of perfect peace!

The owner has an apartment in Rome, near the Trevi fountain, that you can book through VA. Please note good rates apply when Venice and Rome are booked together.

Short stays are available during low season periods: November to March (excluding Christmas, New Year, Carnival and Easter) and July and August, and at short notice at other times.
