Description |
The Castello di Montalto is an exquisite historic medieval castle with apartments and single family houses for rent in the silence of the beautiful Chianti countryside near Siena, Italy and an easy drive to Montepulciano and Montalcino, the centers of two of Tuscany's other famous wine districts. There are numerous towns, villages, castles, monasteries and churches close by. Guests can walk and hike a multitude of trails, and can arrange horseback riding, spa treatments, fishing expeditions, golf trips and winery tours. |
Part of the castle and the carefully restored houses of the little hamlet surrounding it are available as self-catering accommodations for vacation rental, by the owners who live in the castle themselves. |

The villas and apartments on this 700-acre estate in Tuscany enjoy a swimming pool, a tennis court, large wooded areas for pleasant walks and beautiful vistas over the farmed fields in the valley. Most have private gardens as well. The nine (9) apartments in this fully restored castle and in the adjacent hamlet can accommodate up to a total of 44 people and offer simple country elegance. Castello di Montalto is perfect for such as weddings,
anniversaries, renewal of vows and commitment ceremonies, family reunions,
sales incentive trips and other social or corporate events.
Rates include kitchenware, sheets and towels (exchanged weekly), water,
gas and electricity, heating, firewood, use of the comunal sport activities,
normal final cleaning and all taxes.
For those interested in outdoor activities, as well as a large
swimming pool, we have a tennis court, bocce ball, ping pong, bicycles, a small children’s
playground, and maps of the many trails through fields and woods around the castle.
A common room, the Scrittoio, has parlour games and a multi-lingual library.
