Villa Frantoio is
a lovely country
house located on
Sicily's eastern
coast, between
Catania ad
Taormina, less
than a mile from
the beach. The
Villa, that once
was an oil mill
where olives
were crushed
with a huge
wooden press, is
surrounded by a
citrus grove and
olive trees. But
the most
beautiful area
that you can
enjoy is the
gorgeous
swimming pool
framed by a
flourishing
tropical garden.
Nearby is a
lava-paved
terrace, a patio
with a large
dining table and
an original wood
grill excellent
for al fresco
dinners.
The house has
been in part
restored and is
furnished with
antiques that
have been in the
family for
generations, so
you can still
feel the charm
of an old
Sicilian country
house
everywhere.
Once the ground
floor was
designated for
livestock, so
even today the
living quarters
are upstairs.
