This is Rome's most famous little boutique hotel. The deluxe Hassler is across the street but far removed in price and grandeur from this intimate, upscale B&B at the top of the Spanish Steps in the Piazza Trinita dei Monti where you can enjoy fabulous views over the Eternal City. The most exclusive shopping areas and some of the main historical and artistic itineraries of the city are just a few steps away. The area offers every sort of bars and restaurant, most of them with an open air area, Via Veneto, the famous street of “La dolce Vita” is just a few blocks away. The nearby Villa Borghese park will offer to nature lovers wonderful landscapes, many different jogging paths, bicycle rentals and its modern underground gym.
This delightful little building, with just 16 suites - is nestled between much larger structures, with four relief columns across the facade and window boxes with bright blossoms. The recently redecorated interior features small public rooms with bright print slipcovers, old clocks, and low ceilings.
Within few blocks you will find many of the main monuments and the best boutiques of the “Made in Italy”.
The decor varies radically from one guest room to the next. Some have low, beamed ceilings and ancient-looking wood furniture; others have loftier ceilings and more run-of-the-mill furniture. The tiled bathrooms range from small to medium but offer state-of-the-art plumbing. Each has a tub. The best units are any overlooking the steps, but the best of the best are room nos. 10 and 12.
Some have private terrace, some others "caisson" ceilings but the feeling of charm and intimacy is a peculiarity to be found in all of them, without exception.
Note:
If you want to avoid the steps, a public lift connects Piazza Trinità dei Monti with Piazza di Spagna.
