Directions:
- Exit the A1 Highway at "Modena Sud", turn right and follow the directions to Modena. Drive straight on for about 6 km where you will see a big sign on your right hand reading Hotel Castello where you will turn right into Via Pica. The hotel is 300 meters on your right.

The Canalgrande Hotel in Modena is situated in the town centre, just a short distance from the Cathedral with its famous Ghirlandina bell-tower, from the Military Academy and from the smartest shops in town.The hotel building dates from the sixteenth century and was originally the convent of the Holy Trinity. It passed into private ownership in 1788 and underwent alterations and was later sold to Marquis Schedoni.
The basement of the Canalgrande Hotel dates from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and was once the Duke's dockyard and landing stage. It is now home to a most attractive restaurant, "LA SECCHIA RAPITA" where you can enjoy the best local cuisine in the splendid dining room or below ceiling of ancient terracotta cross-vaulting.
A delightful, garden with a fountain makes an unexpected oasis in the heart of the old town. In summer you can have breakfast or an aperitif on the terrace in the garden. The Hotel also has a private garage and car park.
