Villa Amalia
is a
beautiful
house, whose
origins date
to the 17th
century,
situated
just outside
the town of
Cava dei Tirreni
at Localita
Rotolo a few
kilometers south
of Naples
overlooking
the Tyrhennian
Sea on the
southern
coast of the
Amalfi
Peninsula.
Localita
Rotolo (rotolo
refers to
the rolling
of the sun
over the
area), sits
on a rise of
ground just
below the
Lattari
mountains
and boasts a
microclimate
that is very
pleasant
year round.
The Villa
itself is on
three
levels.
The ground
floor
entrance
opens to a
drawing
room, but
other rooms
include a
games room
(with pool
table),
small wine
cellar,
bathroom and
laundry
room.
The first
floor is
accessed by
a marble
staircase.
Here you
will find a
wide door
opening to
the terraced
pool, and a
marble
floored
salon
featuring a
grand piano.
The bathroom
is made with
materials of
baked cotto, brass
fittings
and porcelain.

the kitchen.

stair case
leads to the
second floor
where you

bedrooms

eighteenth-century
style,

terraces

fantastic
view of the Amalfi coast.

Villa Amalia

atmosphere

are paved
with light
grey marble
and in the
park you can
admire a
variety
of century
old exotic
cicas
trees
offering a
riot of
colours and
smells. The
water of the
large
swimming-pool
has the
colour of
the sea
because it
is wholly
made of
white
marble.

got wooden
arch doors
and the
walls are
warm and
bright
coloured
with 17th
century old
stuccos. In
the hall
there are a
variety of
17th century
old frames
finely
decorated
with pure
gold
leaves.
