On the eastern fringes of
Basilicata , just over 20
kilometers from the Ionian
Sea coast, is a valley,
overlooked by the charming
hill-town of Montescaglioso.
In this secluded fertile
valley is an agricultural
enterprise, that is also an agriturismo, offering six
charming houses for rent.
Very rural, populated by a
people that are still very
friendly and proud of their
land and traditions, this is
a holiday base for enjoying
the simpler things of life.
The agriturismo is
immaculately laid out with
lush well-tended lawns and
paths linking the various
buildings. They make their
own olive oil, passata
sauce, bottled peppers and
artichokes and a variety of
local specialities. An
on-site restaurant is
available for pre-booked
lunches and dinners, as is a
shared swimming pool.
Location
The nearest town is
Montescaglioso 8 kilometers
away up the valley and,
apart from possessing the
essential shops, banks and
chemists, it is noted for
its lovely Benedictine abbey
of San Michele. For more
bustle, the provincial
capital of Matera is 20
kilometers away. Each house
accommodates two sets of
guests, hence semi-detached,
and have their own entrance
pergolato for al fresco
relaxation

spacious double bedded room.
Shower room, WC etc. Small
separate kitchen with
fridge, 4 gas ring hob,
electric oven and sink.
Air-conditioning is
available (at extra cost).

charge of Euro 25.00 payable
locally.
